Drop in Beavertail Well, there is not much light to shed on this subject. The picture below is what a drop-in beavertail looks like when on a 1911. In my opinion it is extremely unattractive but you know what they say about beauty; It is in the eye of the beholder. One other note: not all drop-in beavertails are truly drop in. I have seen several that would not drop in some frames without slightly modifying the beavertail to get it to fit. But if you don't want to modify your 1911's frame and still want a Beavertail this might be for you. Good luck
